Below you will find the new schedule of after school enrichment classes for the upcoming Spring term at LCS.
Classes begin Monday, April 19 and end Friday, June 18.

If you prefer paper forms, those will be sent home in folders on Monday, April 12, after Spring break. If you would like a paper form prior to that, simply Contact Us and we will email you a paper form you can print and mail back to us.

Monster Garage - TUESDAY
Back by popular demand, this class is for artists with a wild imagination who are ready to create the monster vehicle of their dreams. We start with a basic remote control car, take it apart, use its parts and mechanism, and build on to it using a wide variety of materials, scrap, household items and art supplies, to re-design it and create a monster vehicle out of your own imagination. We also learn how to find the balance between fantasy and reality as we find ways to make our car as crazy as we can conceive of, while making sure that it still drives when we put the batteries in at the end of the term! (all ages)
Woodworking - WEDNESDAY
This is an in-class workshop with woodworking teacher Jesse Robinson, where students will learn to use tools properly and safely and examine the relationship between process and form, technique and creativity, and of course, hammer and nail. By the end of the course, students will take home a creation that they have built with themselves, sanding, measuring, connecting, hammering, nailing, gluing and more. Nothing feels better than starting with a formless piece of wood and creating something out of it with your own hands. Small class size to ensure safety. (all ages)
Movie Making: Lego Animation - THURSDAY
Sound awesome? It is! We’ll learn about and experiment the fundamentals of Stop Motion Animation using LEGOs. Bring in your favorite set or use ours (we have plenty!) to create your own amazing animated movie, whether it’s a pirate adventure, a knightly medieval tale or a journey into another galaxy! The ideas will be yours, the sets built by you and you will operate all the equipment to bring your masterpiece to the big screen. Calling all movie makers who want to bring their imagination to life!
Streetwear Design - FRIDAY
What better way to express yourself than wearing your own art? In this class, super cool artist and streetwear designer Chad Attie teaches us about the principles of design and then shows us how to take our designs and apply them to the things we love to wear. Using different methods, including stencil, heat transfer and direct application of media, we’ll make our own T-shirts, Hoodies, Bags and even Shoes. At the end of the class, students will have their own private clothing collection that they have brought from conception to reality that they can wear with a sense of pride and achievement. A great class for boys or girls. (all ages)
Kidding Around the Kitchen: Cooking - MONDAY
Kidding Around the Kitchen is an adventure in cooking, food and fun. Learn how to cook in a fun and safe way. Kids will make delicious, nutritious meals each week, learning about food and nutrition, smells, tastes, textures, exploration, kitchen safety and the art of cooking. (all ages)
