6th - 8th Grade
While 3rd - 5th grade campers head out on a different field trip each session, our “Bridge” Program participants get to double up on their Field Trip fun, heading out on TWO field trips each session (once per week - every Thursday).
6th - 8th graders go to all the same destinations the other campers do, but IN ADDITION, they also go out on another field trip just for them. Also, while the “standard” field trip destinations are more traditionally in tune with SDAC’s philosophy of learning, growth and empowerment (in addition to fun), the “Bridge” Program field trips are all about taking it to the next level of fun.

3rd - 5th Grade Destinations Are:
3rd - 5th Grade
Campers entering 3rd - 5th grade will head out on a new, exciting field trip each session, on the 2nd Thursday of the session. Field trip destinations have been carefully selected to represent the values of our philosophy and the aims of our mission. All trips are designed to be engaging, educational and fun.

Transportation
For each field trip, we charter an SPAB certified bus with an SPAB certified driver from a reputable, reliable, licensed and insured bussing company. The bus takes us to our destination, then waits for us to return. Campers are joined on the bus by their counselor and the field trip supervisor
Supervision
Campers are chapperoned and supervised closely on all field trips by their regular counselors PLUS the field trip coordinator PLUS additional staff to increase the staff to camper ratio. Be assured that close supervision and safety are at the forefront of our objectives on all field trips at all times.
What Do We Do There?
Of course, each field trip destination provides different experience. Please see the field trip descriptions below to learn about what we’ll do at each destination.
Lunch
Campers pack a lunch as they normal would. Every field trip includes a designated time and place to sit and eat a sack lunch packed and brought from home. Usually the location allows for some outdoor play and enjoyment at lunchtime.
Cost
There is no additional cost for any of the field trips. All field trip costs are included in tuition.
Times/Schedule
Depending on our destination and the anticipated driving time, we usually load up on the bus shortly after announcements in the morning and are usually off by 10am. Excursions are planned so that we return to camp shortly after 3pm, in time for 3:30pm pick up.
What if My Child Does Not Want to Go?
Field trip days are part of the regular programming of camp. There are no alternative activities for campers who do not wish to attend. If your camper does not wish to attend a particular field trip or if you are not comfortable with a particular destination, please keep your camper at home that day.
Field Trips in Light Blue are for 6th-8th grades only
Field Trips in Dark Blue are for 3rd-5th and 6th-8th
